As a solo artist, Aidan Baker explores the deconstructive sonic possibilities of the electric guitar as a primary sound source, creating music that ranges from experimental to electro-acoustic to ambient electronica. He also plays in the experimental/ethno-ambient group ARC
, the post-space-rock group Mnemosyne
, and the noise/drone metal project Nadja
Aidan is the author of two books of poetry, two poetry chapbooks, and has published poetry, fiction, and criticism in various international and scholarly journals.
Undercurrents is collaboration between US artist Matt Borghi and Canadian artist Aidan Baker. Droning ambient guitar passages are remixed, reworked, and layered into drifting, amorphous pieces drenched in reverb and echoing with an aquatic, submarine quality.
