"I imagine my consciousness to be like a vast ocean. Many ships leave many ports, filled with thoughts, ideas, names, numbers, information, memories. Most make it to their desired ports unhindered, some are delayed by storms, other unfortunate ships are simply lost at sea, never to be heard from again.
At the center of this enormous sea lies an island; the subconscious, with its stony, unforgiving shoreline. A chance few ships are sucked into the pull of this island, and the ships are dashed apart on its rocky shores, spilling their contents onto the beach.
The fact that these ships meet their fate here is not random: they are brought here for a reason. I must sort through the debris and make sense of what I find, there are very important lessons to be learned, parallels to be drawn. These songs are a reflection of this process, which often takes place quietly in the background, but can sometimes become a crisis if left untouched."
