Sigil of Time
Initially, Sigil of Time was a one-man project from Moscow, Russia. Mostly neofolk/ambient dedicated to the beauty of nature and deepest powers of human soul and personality, appealing to folklore traditions and some modern music.
Later another artist joined the project to make the sound more complex and surprising.
The music of Sigil is infused with post-industrial and dark ambient elements. Here, analog synthesizers, acoustic and electronic guitars, brass ethnic instruments, and noise samples have been used, independently recorded for each composition. If we talk about influences, we can name: Staruha Mha, Der Golem, Voice of Eye, and Eduard Artemyev. The guitar sometimes borrows heavily from neofolk. The goal was always experimentation, creating music that members of Sigil of Time themselves enjoyed.
We always wanted to capture the awe that a human being feels while coming face-to-face with the wilderness. Sometimes the music is meant to be melancholic, sometimes peaceful. Yet at other times, we try to paint a darker tone. A lot of Sigil Of Time compositions are like a soundtrack to a non-existent chamber theater production, which the authors of Sigil had imagined while writing the track.

contrasting Petrof piano with electronic ambiences
This collection of etudes, akin to a series of bold and expressive sketches, began in late February and culminated in a release at the end of May. It's an exploration that bridges the gap between the classic sounds of the Petrof piano with hardware and software synthesizers (including the Korg Minilogue and various freeware options). This project embodies our attempt to push the boundaries of our creative expression, embracing all available tools and possibilities. The resulting pieces are a testament to the unpredictable nature of the creative process, offering a spectrum of moods – from the meditative to the vibrant and dynamic.

a minimalistic transformation in three parts
The feeling of soft moss embracing your body while you are laying on the ground and watching tree branches dance in the deep blue autumn sky, Feeling of that constant trace of something primordial, simple and axiomatically good in your life. For those, who like long forest walks, swamps, falling leaves, mushrooms - and celestial fields from horizon to horizon.
A theme in three variations: from dark ambient, via a subtle hint of psychedelic, to a more minimalistic neoclassical theme. It kind of showcases the evolution of ambient music from classical minimalism and use of ambient noise to a more post industrial sound. A collaboration between Sigil of Time and Mirocaw.
